All About Anna

It had been a good month for Anna. She had the district reflection's contest, recieved a Climbing Higher award at school and had the 5th grade science fair.

Anna recieved honorable mention for her photography in the Reflections Contest.

Anna recieved the Climbing Higher Award at school.

Anna worked really hard on her science fair project. She was disappointed that the results didn't turn out the way she thought they would. Even so she was picked to go on and represent the school in the District Science Fair later this month.

Sledding

We decided to take advantage of the snow an do a little sledding at a park near us. The kids had a ball and I got to try out my camera taking snow pictures. I am still trying to figure out all the settings.

After I had taken the picture I zoomed into Amanda's face and saw that she had her eyes closed. She loved sledding but she didn't like walking back up the hill.

Kayla had a ball going down the hill. The goal was to see who could go the farthest.

Zach and Anna decided to try to go down together. The ended up falling before they made it to the bottom of the hill.

Craig decided to try "snowboarding" Let just say it didn't end well.

President Hinckley

I just thought I would take a minute and write a few thoughts I have with the passing of our Prophet. I have been thinking the last couple of days about what influence he has had on my life. There is one experience that really stands out. I had the opportunity to sing in the choir for the Relief Society General Meeting in September 1995. I can even remember the songs that we sang. One of them being "More Holiness Give Me." This is now one of my favorite hymns especially the last verse. I remember that the meeting was running a little long but President Hinckley said that the men were just going to have to wait a little bit longer for us to get home. (I loved his sense of humor.) He then proceeded to read The Family: A Proclamation to the World. I remember the spirit that was in the room and I knew that He was a prophet of God. When I heard of his passing my first thought was he is now finally reunited with his wife. I can only imagine the joyful reunion. I will miss the humor he brought to General Conference and his wise counsel he had for us.

Snowman

The kids have been off track since the week before Christmas and it has been snowing nonstop. The kids decided one day to go out and build a snowman. The kids dedicate this snowman to Calvin and Hobbes.

New Years Eve

This year for New Years Eve we all got together at mom and dad's house for games. Games are serious business for the Hanson's. Games of choice for tonight were Settlers and Acquire. Two of our favorites.
Mom, Jarom, Liina, Mike and Kristine playing Acquire.

Dad and Kim playing Settlers.

Jeff taking forever to make his move in Settlers.

Christmas Day with the Boyntons

We usually spend Christmas Eve and morning with the Hansons and Christmas Day with the Boyntons. This year we went up to Craig brothers house for dinner, games and of course a little football.

Craig's sister Cathy got a new puppy. Amanda loved to just sit and hold her. Anna is begging for a puppy....but those who know me know how much I love dogs.

My Christmas

For Christmas Craig surprised me with a new camera. I have been wanting this camera for months. I haven't figured out everything I can do with it but these are some picture I took playing around with the color feature. Hopefully this camera will greatly improve my pictures. I am excited too learn how to use it.
