Finally the wait is over. Anna got her braces on in January. She loves that she gets to change the color of the bands everytime she goes in. She hates that she is supposed to have her head gear on whenever she is at home. Personally I think she is lucky. When I was a kid you had to wear it all the time. Anyway I have included the before and after pictures of her on the day she got braces. She won't let me take a picture of her with her head gear on.

Christmas Day
Christmas morning is always exciting. This year we had big group. Kim and her family, Kris and Her family, Jarom and Liina and my family stayed over at Mom and Dad's. Christmas morning was a little hectic, but everyone seemed happy with what Santa had brought them. We then had the Christmas breakfast which is blueberry pancakes and bacon. (This is the only time my parents ever have bacon in the house.) Then we all packed up and headed home. We had Craig's family over to our house this year for dinner and so that the kids could exchange gifts. Christmas is always a very tiring day but one of my favorites!!
Well I have at least caught up the rest of December. I will update the rest soon.
Bye
Christmas Eve
As is tradition we went over to Mom and Dad's for Christmas Eve. The kids love this tradition. We go over and have dinner then Mom and Dad put on a Christmas Program. This includes the kids getting to dress up and play the different parts of the Christmas story. In between we sing Christmas songs that go along. The kids really enjoy this. After this is over the kids get to open their "Christmas eve present" Which is always pajamas. Even though they all know what they are getting it is still exciting to open a gift. Then the kids are off to bed ( or at least down stairs) while the "grown ups" stay up and play games all night....well close to all night....Santa has to come at some point. This is really the only time during the year the "grown ups" get a chance to stay up all night and play games....who said we were grown ups. The favorite right now is Settlers of Catan. And if thing go well we can usually get in two or three games.
Amanda's 3rd Bithday
Well the past couple of months have gone by really quickly. I have not had a chance to sit down and update my blog. So here is some catch-up.
Amanda turned three on December 23. Not a very exciting day to have a birthday. It is easy to over look because of Christmas, luckily she is still young enough that she doesn't notice or care. Amanda is very much in to the barbie princess movies. So for her birthday she got a barbie princess dress complete with the crown and wand. In addition she got the Barbie 12 Dancing Princess movie. Which has been a big hit. For Amanda the key to getting the maxium amount of entertainment out of the movie is joining in. By this I mean that in order to watch the movie you have to be in full character which means that she has the dress on with the crown and accessories. Also during this time she is to be referred to as Princess Geneive and not as Amanda. Occasionally this request is made when she is not watching the movie. For instance on her second week of Primary, when I went to pick her up from class her teacher asked me who Geneive was because Amanda had told her that her name was not Amanda but Geneive. Oh to have the imagination of a three year old.
